The NoE issued a consolidation process which included reduction in operations. This resulted in about 130 people losing their jobs. The warehouse and office which was based in Großostheim was closed. The employees were terminated and all operations were frozen. All the operations were then consolidated. As of 2018, Nintendo of Europe has over 850 employees.

This only left about 10 employees in the Korean division. However, there was no impact of this layoff on the scheduled release of new games in Korea. Nintendo still operates there as usual.

Impact on the Environment

There is a report called “Guide to Greener Electronics” which is published by Greenpeace every year and Nintendo always ranks last. Only because Nintendo always fails to provide the information Greenpeace asks for. Also, another report called “Conflict Minerals Company Ranking” by Enough Project’s, Nintendo never replies to the information that they seek and therefore, ranks last there too.
